**UPDATE: PREVIEWS FOR A LIMITED BROADWAY ENGAGEMENT OF MISS SAIGON BEGIN 1ST MARCH 2017.**

Original post from 2015:

We’re shocked (and saddened) to hear that Miss Saigon will sing her final notes at the Prince Edward Theatre on February 27th 2016. The show’s original production ran at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane for ten years, so it comes as a real surprise that Cameron Mackintosh‘s epic revival, which opened in May 2014 will be flying off again quite so soon.

Talk is of a Broadway transfer, with productions also planned in Germany and Australia – but we’re hoping for a full DVD release of the show’s gala performance which was recorded last year in the presence of many of the original 1989 cast.

So why has this magnificent revival of such a beautiful show not had a longer life? Have 2015 audiences fallen out of love with love? Let’s hope not, but there will certainly be more than the usual tear in the eye of the show’s audience as the curtain falls after today’s news.

Chris and Kim: The greatest love story in the West End

If you have yet to see Miss Saigon in all her glory, you’d better book tickets soon! The production is, in our humble opinion, one of the greatest, most awe-inspiring, and breathtaking shows currently running in the West End.

And if you’re lucky enough to have seen Miss Saigon, don’t you think its time for a film release so that we don’t lose Chris and Kim all over again? Share this post and maybe, just maybe we can persuade Cameron Mackintosh to finally release the show on DVD!
