Sienna Miller & Jack O’Connell will star in Benedict Andrews’ new production of Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Apollo Theatre.
Following a smash-hit production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Benedict Andrews directs this Pulitzer Prize-winning play produced by the Young Vic. Sienna Miller and Jack O’Connell will lead the cast as Maggie and Brick in this searing, poetic story of a family’s fight for survival.
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof premiered on Broadway before it was adapted for the big screen in 1958, directed by Richard Brooks and starring Elizabeth Taylor & Paul Newman.
The story
On a steamy night in Mississippi, a Southern family gather at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday. The scorching heat is almost as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real – and which will win out?
