We hope your Christmas was merry and bright! Now, all we need is a little Elsa magic for a White Christmas! Stay tuned on that…. Here’s the latest scoop on the London theatre scene.
Frozen is coming to London in 2020. After its popular, Tony-nominated run on Broadway, Frozen will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2020. No opening date or casting details have been announced yet.
Jack McBrayer will play Ogie in the West End production of Waitress. McBrayer is best known for starring alongside Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin in 30 Rock from 2006 to 2013, for which he received an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series. He also voices Fix-It Felix in Wreck-It Ralph, along with characters in Despicable Me and The Simpsons. McBrayer will make his West End debut in Waitress–starring alongside Katharine McPhee, Marisha Wallace, Laura Baldwin, and others.

After opening last week, Caroline, or Change is swimming in five-star reviews. The Financial Times calls it “a thrilling revival,” and the Evening Standard notes that it’s “nothing short of a triumph.” It’s currently playing through 9 February!
The Illusionists will return to London’s Shaftesbury Theatre in July 2019. This show, last seen in London in 2015, showcases the talents of world-famous magicians–performing acts of levitation, mind-reading, and mind-boggling illusions.

In terms of Frozen- I have been dying to see it since it opened on Broadway.
However, that means waiting for a US Tour. I heard (which I still don’t know if true) that this will happen in 2019. Hopefully what I heard is true. Waiting to see a musical you want to see is one of the hardest parts of being a musical theatre fanatic.
I totally agree. Waiting is so hard! Hopefully Frozen will go on tour in the U.S. so you can see it!
Turns out I was right- Frozen is going on a US Tour in 2019. When you rely on tours, you have to wait the longest. I have a feeling Frozen will be part of Charlotte’s 2019-2020 season. I have loved Frozen since I saw the movie. Even though I rely on tours, thankful that Charlotte is a major touring city.
