Where can I meet the Strictly Stars in 2021?

Ever wondered what the Strictly Pros and Celebrity alumni get up to when they’re not on our screens each Saturday night? Since the first series began in 2004, an astonishing 249 celebrities have taken to the floor with 53 pro dancers (not even counting those without a celebrity partner in the main show). The BBC may be hanging up the glitterball for another year, but you don’t have to miss your Strictly fix! Here’s where you can get up close and personal with the stars of the show!

Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Oti Mabuse, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Johannes Radebe

You’ll be spoilt for choice at Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals which tours from May 2021. Bringing together ten of the show’s professional dancers, the tour promises to bring the magic and sparkle of the smash-hit BBC One show to a town near you from May 2021.

Janette Manrara, Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden and Neil Jones

An all-new official Strictly show for 2021, Strictly: The Power of Dance brings together four of the show’s most popular pro dancers for a dance extravaganza. Former Strictly pros Gordana Grandosek and Trent Whiddon have choreographed this spectacular show, exploring what it means to be a dancer. The tour begins in June 2021.

Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice

Join Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice for their first time together on the road! ANTON & GIOVANNI – Him & Me unites this King of the Ballroom and Two-time Guinness World Record Holder for a veritable smorgasbord of dance delights! The tour begins in June 2021.

Giovanni Pernice

If you want Giovanni all to yourself, he’s also going solo in his own tour – Giovanni Pernice This Is Me which runs from April 2021. Judging by the trailer you might need to take a fan…

Gorka Márquez & Karen Hauer

This one’s a little way off – but it’s nice to have things to look forward to! We can only imagine how much fun this will be backstage with cheeky Gorka and Strictly legend Karen Hauer sparking off each other! Judging by the trailer it’s going to be scorchio! The Firedance Live Tour begins in 2022.

What about the Ghosts of Strictly Past?

Lesley Garrett (series 1)

Way back in 2004, this magnificent opera diva was Anton Du Beke’s first ever celebrity partner – they finished in a highly respectable third place. Lesley was due to tour in 2020 but the Lesley Garrett website is already dropping tantalising hints that dates will be rescheduled for 2021.

Aled Jones (series 2)

You just can’t escape Aled’s dulcet tones at this most wonderful time of the year. His version of Walking In The Air made the song a Christmas hit and in 2004 he placed fourth with partner Lilia Kopylova. Keep up to date with news via the Aled Jones facebook page – his 2020 tour was postponed but is now rescheduled for May 2021, visiting the UK’s most beautiful Cathedral cities from Paisley to St David’s.

Julian Clary (series 2)

Julian will be touring the UK from spring 2021 with his Born To Mince tour – details at the Julian Clary website. Expect more double-entendres than a fondant fancy in a finger-food factory.

James Martin (series 3)

Check out this culinary wiz at next year’s Longleat Live. This super-chef waltzed off the show in fourth place with Camilla Dallerup way back in 2005 – if only his feet were as light as his meringues!

Emma Bunton (Series 4)

Baby Spice Emma Bunton was many bookmaker’s favourite to lift the glitterball back in 2006 with partner Darren Bennett, but was pipped to the post by cricketer Mark Ramprakash. There are rumours that the Spice Girls will tour once again in 2021. Follow the official Emma Bunton twitter account for updates!

Tom Chambers (series 6)

Dishy actor Tom Chambers stole the show (and the glitterball) with his epic showdance with partner Camilla Dallerup in 2008 in what would be her final series as a Strictly pro. This year, Tom will be appearing in Hitchcock classic Dial M For Murder. Check with venues before booking as some dates & casting has changed.

Jason Donovan (series 9)

Aussie 80s heartthrob Jason Donovan aka Scott from Neighbours was partnered with blonde bombshell Kristina Rihanoff for series 9. They cha-chad all their way to the final where they placed third (Harry Judd won that year with Aliona Vilani – still the only pro to win twice). He was due to tour in 2020 but his Even More Good Reasons tour is now rescheduled for 2021.

Harry Judd (series 9)

The first of Aliona Vilani’s wins came with McFly’s Harry Judd in 2011 (the second came four years later with Jay McGuinness). Harry will be taking to the road with McFly once more from May 2021 – visit McFly’s website for more tour info.

Denise Van Outen (series 10)

In 2012, Denise Van Outen partnered James Jordan for a runners up spot shared with Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev (they were beaten by gymnast Louis Smith). In 2021, Denise will take part in ITV’s Dancing on Ice, giving her the unique accolade of being the only celebrity to have formed part of a couple who have both appeared on both shows…with the exception of Torville and Dean who took part in a SCD Children in Need Special in 2013.

Sophie Ellis Bextor (series 11)

Pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor has become something of a hero during 2020 with her lockdown discos but her ability to keep the nation entertained came as no surprise to fans of her unforgettable Charleston on Strictly alongside pro dancer Brendan Cole back in 2013. Sophie is back on tour in 2021 – you’ll find more details at the Sophie Ellis Bextor website.

Alison Hammond (series 12)

Alison partnered the gorgeous Aljaž Škorjanec back in 2014 in a brief but hugely entertaining run to week 5 of the show. She captured the hearts of a nation proving that size is no obstacle to being fabulous. We’re thrilled that this gorgeous human will be taking over as the regular Friday presenter of ITV’s This Morning in 2021.

Peter Andre (series 13)

Finishing in a respectable 7th place with the delectable Janette Manrara, Peter is no stranger to the stage. In 2021 he will resume performances as Teen Angel/Vince Fontaine in the National Tour of Grease. Check with venues as some dates have been rescheduled.

Will Young (series 14)

Will famously withdrew after week 3 of Strictly for reasons we still don’t fully understand. He’s expected to tour the UK in 2021, but we’re still awaiting information so watch this space!

Lesley Joseph (series 14)

This theatrical Bird of a Feather brought the house down when she starred in the original London cast of Young Frankenstein back in 2016. Just a year earlier she made it through to week five of Strictly, partnering Anton Du Beke. Now she’s back, sharing the role of Mother Superior for the Sister Act UK Tour 2021 …or you can catch Jennifer Saunders in the role for London Dates of Sister Act at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith. Check which Mother Superior you want to see before booking.

Danny Mac (series 14)

When Danny Mac appeared on Strictly in 2016 he set the nation’s pulses racing with his sensational performances with parter Oti Mabuse. You can now see just how mega-talented this handsome devil is from the comfort of your own sofa; Leicester Curve’s concert production of Sunset Boulevard will stream between Tuesday 22 December and Saturday 9 January with tickets from £20, with Danny Mac as Joe Gillis and Ria Jones as Norma Desmond. It is hoped that Danny will return to the West End production of Pretty Woman in Spring 2021.

Aston Merrygold (series 15)

Another “coulda shoulda won” contestant, Aston made a shock exit, falling victim to the “curse of week 7” in 2017 with partner Janette Manrara. Now he’s back with bandmates JLS for their appropriately named 2021 JLS – Beat Again Tour. From June 2021.

Alexandra Burke (series 15)

Another series 15 celebrity who many feel deserved the glitterball was Alexandra Burke. Her stage presence held audiences spellbound in the London production of The Bodyguard and now she’s back on stage preparing for the 2021 tour of My Best Friend’s Wedding The Musical. From September 2021

Debbie McGee (series 15)

2017 proved to be a vintage year for Strictly. Debbie McGee (runner up alongside Alexandra Burke) provided dance magic and sparkle and she’s currently bringing that same stardust to Cinderella at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. And her legion of fans will be doubly excited to hear she’s also confirmed for next year’s Mayflower Theatre Panto – another Cinderella – alongside Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood – opening Christmas 2021. Oh Yes It is!!

Faye Tozer (series 16)

Steps fans will be over the moon to hear that Faye Tozer (runner up in 2018 with Giovanni Pernice) will be back on the road with her Steps bandmates in 2021 for the Steps What The Future Holds Tour – who can forget her perfect-40 scoring ‘Lonely Goatherd’ from Musicals Week!

Chris Ramsey (series 17)

Chris’s loveable persona saw him all the way through to the semi-final in 2019 with partner Karen Hauer. While he may be no Fred Astaire, Chris is still one of the funniest Strictly celebs ever. You can catch his stand-up in person in 2021 with the postponed Chris Ramsey 20/20 tour – check before booking as several dates have been rescheduled.

TV Appearances by Strictly Stars in 2021

The Eastenders Strictly Factory

EastEnders is currently like a Strictly reunion with no less than eight previous SCD contestants currently residing on Albert Square including Maisie Smith (series 18), Scott Maslen (series 8, 4th place), Letitia Dean (series 5, 4th place), Jessie Wallace (series 6, 13th place), Davood Ghadami (series 15, 6thplace), Jake Wood (series 12 (5th place), Kellie Bright (series 13, =2nd place), Emma Barton (series 17, = 2nd place) – in fact if you’re in EastEnders and you haven’t appeared on Strictly you must be feeling pretty left out!

Helen George

Helen (series 13, 6th place) will reprise her role as Trixie in Call The Midwife at Christmas and in a brand new season of the show due to air on BBC1 in 2021. She fairly smouldered with hunky Aljaź – can it really be as far back as 2015?

Lisa Riley

Lisa (series 10, 5th place) returns in 2021 to her role in ITV’s Emmerdale as Mandy Dingle for a third time – she holds a very fond place in the heart of Strictly fans for her whirlwind performances with Robin Windsor. Her Cha Cha Cha is a thing of Strictly legend.

Kelvin Fletcher

Kelvin (series 17, winner) was nearly never in Strictly – he was a last minute replacement in 2019 for a then-injured Jamie Laing…and the rest is history! In 2021, he will join the cast of Death in Paradise (announced on the official Death in Paradise twitter feed), bringing some much-needed tropical sun into our lives. You can expect a lot of excuses for shirt-off acting from the writers!

Michelle Visage

Michelle (series 17, 7th place) stole the Halloween show in 2019 with a delicious Addams-Family-inspired Foxtrot. She didn’t win the series but she gained legions of fans with her spine-tingling performances. She’s back to fab-u-lous in 2021, returning as a judge for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, season 2.
